Jazz is a lovely friendly boy who came into our care several weeks ago when his owner could no longer look after him. He was underweight and had a severe skin condition but our kennels' team have given him lots of TLC and he is thankfully now on the road to recovery.
Jazz loves to play; he enjoys ball games and loves to carry the lead for you! Being a labrador, he also enjoys food but he's on a relatively limited diet at the moment whilst we work out if his skin condition is affected by potential allergens. Jazz has previously lived with a whippet and a terrier, and whilst he has not lived with children, grandchildren did visit. Jazz is house trained and travels well.
Jazz would benefit from an active home where there would be lots of interaction, and he would enjoy some basic training too. A stress free environment would also be helpful for his skin condition, as stress can sometimes make this worse. In his previous home Jazz wasn't left alone much at all so he would benefit from a home where there would be someone around for most of the time, although he hasn't shown any signs of separation anxiety in kennels. Jazz doesn't seem to have experienced much of the outside world so we would want him to be given plenty of time to settle into his new environment and routine before gradually being introduced to anything new.
Jazz is currently having twice-weekly baths and daily medication to help his recovery. Anyone wishing to adopt/foster him must continue with whatever treatments are prescribed by our vet.
