Sprite may be a big dog but he’s also a big softie! Sprite is two years old and came to us recently with his friend Pixie. Both dogs lived together in the same home, and although they shared a kennel to start with, they now have their own space. Sprite responds very well to treats and praise and is a very friendly guy. Both dogs previously shared a home with children and cats but it may be that Sprite would prefer a quieter life now, and might like to be the only pet in an adult only household, or one with older children. Sprite weighs 33kg. Handsome Max came to us recently with his friend Mara. He is seven years old. Max is an intelligent boy who knows some of his basic commands and is very eager to please and learn especially when treats are involved. We are recommending that Max be rehomed in an adult only home. Pretty Mara is eight years old. She’s an affectionate and friendly girl who loves people. Mara has previously lived with children, another husky and cats. She was as good as gold this week when she was examined by our vet, she is happy to be groomed and her previous owner has told us that she is fine when she’s travelling. Because of her size, we are recommending a home for Mara with older children only. ******SPECIAL APPEAL***** Trevor has been with us for some time now and we’d love him to find his new home soon. Lively Trevor is two years old and a dog with a great personality. He’s full of energy, always on the go and he just loves being with his human friends, especially when he’s allowed to come up to the office and sprawl on the sofa! Trevor is just a big softie; he’s affectionate, loyal and always eager to please. He has previously lived with a youngster and two other dogs, but because of his bounciness, we are recommending a home for him with older children where he will be the only pet. Our national website rspca.org.uk has more photos of Trevor and a video of him having fun in our exercise area with one of our volunteers. Trevor weighs 24.5 kg Please have a look! ****SPECIAL APPEAL**** Friendly, affectionate and eager to please, five-year-old Rosie is great company and a lovely girl to be around. She is always in a happy mood and enjoys going out for walks and playing with her toys in the exercise area. Rosie will come to you when called and already knows the commands ‘sit’, ‘down’ and ‘paw’, but she would certainly benefit from some further training where she can continue to work on her basic commands and leadwork, and learn to socialize with other dogs. Rosie has never lived with other pets but she has lived with children over the age of twelve. As she is quite a ‘bouncy’ dog we wouldn’t recommend a home with children younger than that age. She has spent her second Christmas in kennels and doesn’t deserve to have been with us that long.Rosie weighs 23kg.
